Submodalities – What are they? 

In NLP we refer to our senses as modalities, they are how we process our external world. 

And so, we’ve got visual (sight), kinesthetic (feelings), auditory (hearing), audio digital (internal dialogue). We also have our gustatory (taste) and olfactory (smell). 

And our submodalities are the subsets of our modalities, or the finer details of how we encode and give meaning to the information we take in from our senses or modalities.
